Hooray Summer is here!

Wow the sun is finally shining, my shop is open again for another year I'm still hanging on, something else to celebrate.  I decided I was going to have a good positive day and finally get around to update my blog.  Last year turned out to be an exciting year, the highlight for me was when I was asked to take part in the Made in Wexford exhibition in Gorey and Wexord town.  I was very proud  and excited to be asked, it was a great experience.  Here is a picture of me and my Mum(my best friend and biggest supporter) at the opening of the exhibition in Gorey which took place last July.

The second part of the exhibition took part during the Wexford Opera festival in October, I decided to work on a new colour combination and took some inspiration from the sea.  The soft fluid shape of the finished piece was inspired by seaweed.  I love these colours they are proving very popular with my customers in the shop just wondering what you thought of them?

New colours for 2011

Hi I've been working on some new colour combinations for this year just wondering what you thought?  The inspiration for this one came from an old stone wall outside my front door, you never know when an idea will come to you.  I noticed the different colours in the stones, the grass, moss and other plants(as you can tell I have great gardening skills with all this growing on my wall) and thought it might be worth trying out.  I had a look around my work shop and this is what I came up with.

Here is another new colour combination I have been working on, I really love it.  I have been thinking about trying it out for a while and decided this year I'll give it a go.  I love the purple and green, I think they work really well together.  It kind of feels like a warm hug, really comforting.  What do you think?

Todays treats....Lamps!

Hi I thought now that I have finally got this blog working again I'd show you some new lamps I made over the last few weeks.  I have got my husband on board to take the photos(well bullied him) which I hope you will agree has definitely improved I have no patience to set it up and get it right(which I bet all of you who know me will agree.....my little girl didn't lick her talent for a good tantrum off the stones!) Well I hope you like the lamps and last nights jewellery I'd love to know what you think.

Hooray New Jewellery

Hi I'm back with some new jewellery to show you.  Sorry I haven't had a chance to update this blog recently the shop has been really busy (thank god!)and I have been up to my eyes trying to keep up with work and then when I did try to up date the blog I couldn't get it to update photo's so I have nearly driven everyone crazy asking them what was wrong with it.  So as you can see I haven't got any better with the amazing world of the Internet.  I also have tried to figure out how to use face book which according to everybody else in the entire universe is so easy to set up but surprise, surprise I haven't a clue  I just sit there  baffled as to what to do next.  I seem to have set up a page with to many letters in the name to be able to find it much to the amusement of my sister.  So anyway here is some more pictures of my latest pendents.

Another Lamp Hooray!

Hi just wanted to show you another lamp that I made. Mixing brown and red together is one of my favourite colour combinations to use and fits in easily to most homes colour schemes. This lamp makes me think of the feathers on a hens body....I know weird what can inspire you! I hope you like it.

Inspiration from the beach

Just thought I'd show you some pieces I made after a beautiful afternoon on the beach. I was standing by the sea shore throwing stones in with my kids looking into the beautiful clear water when I started to think how beautiful the colours of the pebbles are in the sea. The next day I was really excited to try to recreate the colours I saw. Its a new colour pallet for me and I really love it.
